School is hardly a break for Samantha, particularly when Shelby (Julie Gonzalo) is around; spoiled, wealthy, and popular, Shelby treats Samantha nearly as badly as Fiona does. And school most popular jock Austin Aimes (Chad Michael Murray). Samantha's life is irrevocably changed, however, by two events: a makeover of epic proportions and a sudden electronic correspondence with a mysterious young man. Due to a misplaced cell phone and a series of fateful coincidences, Samantha and her Prince Charming develop a romance through text messages and e-mails, and ultimately promise to meet face-to-face at the biggest school dance of the year. But there's something bothering Sam's mind, she is worried that this boy won’t accept her and her “diner girl” image.
Sam’s wicked stepsisters try to embarrass her at a pep rally, revealing Cinderella’s identity to the whole school. Sam decides to hide herself from the world. The crew at the diner try to comfort Sam and explain to her that no one can control her life. So Sam decides to move out from her stepmother’s house and live her own life. With this sudden burst of independence, Sam summons up the courage to confront Austin and tell him that she isn’t afraid to be herself anymore but she cant wait around for him.
At the big game, Austin has a lot to lose. But in the last few minutes of the game, he throws it all away so that he can be with Sam.
In the end the two go to Princeton together and “live happily ever after”
THE END
